Multi-laminated glass panels that block flames, smoke, and radiant heat. Floor-to-ceiling fire walls with full transparency — 60 to 120 minute ratings.
Maximum Protection
Pyrostop represents the highest classification of transparent fire protection. Unlike ceramic glass (which is protective), Pyrostop is fire-resistive glass: it blocks not only flames and smoke, but also the radiant heat that can ignite materials on the other side and impede safe evacuation.
Manufactured by Pilkington (NSG group), Pyrostop uses intumescent layers between glass sheets that expand when heated, forming an opaque, rigid barrier that blocks heat transmission. Under normal conditions, the glass is completely transparent.
How It Works
The glass is completely transparent. Intumescent layers are invisible. Light transmission comparable to standard glass.
Intumescent layers expand forming an opaque, rigid barrier. Radiant heat is blocked. People on the unexposed side are protected from heat and can evacuate safely.
